Sketchmageddon: Festival Fury

Sketchmageddon is the epic sketch comedy showdown, where truly anything can happen. And we do mean anything!!! Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's weird, it's always entertaining.

At Festival Fury, some of the best Sketchmageddon competitors will go head to head to head to head... the winner will get there own show later in the festival.

Don't miss this all-out comedy deathmatch!!! It's Saturday Night Live meets Thunderdome.

Mae and Michael

Mae & Michael formed as a team to compete in Sketchmageddon. They wowed audiences and have received a single rave review. They often will message each other random thoughts that taken out of context would seem like a 80s movie villain's fever dream.

On The House

Founded in October 2016, On The House exploded onto the sketch scene with a revelatory Sketchmageddon performance to an audience of 12 in the middle of a snowstorm. Much like the Colossus of Rhodes bestride the rivers of Ancient Greece, On The House has bridged the worlds of sketch comedy and improv comedy. Made up of seasoned performers who are unafraid to be weird and challenging, On The House is a sketch comedy group, but first and foremost a family. Our fun is free and the house is heated. Come on in.

One-Trick Pony

One-Trick Pony is a one woman sketch comedy series featuring Hayley Daniels, a Norfolk Virginia resident. Hayley's "one trick" is rapidly changing wigs."

Sk3leton Cr3w

High quality! Low effort! That's the Skeleton Crew's mission statement. The Skeleton Crew was formed as a team that could compete in Sketchmageddon with very little rehearsal or preparation time. The group creates scene outlines or "skeletons" which it then used to improvise around, which are then turned solidified and turned into finish scenes. This allows them to create 15 to 20 minutes of material in 3 to 4 hours. The group consists of Ed Carden, Matt Cole, Brian Garraty, Rafael Henriquez, Sandy Cardens, Erin Lindstrom, Kerry Kruk, Angel Sanchez, James Roach, plus Heather, and sometimes Adam Paine.

Locals Only featuring Husband Material, Russia and Girl-Prov

Mr. Miyagi's School of Karate and Improvisational Comedy

It has been 33 years since the famed Hill Valley Karate Tournament. Following his famed student’s controversial win with an illegal crane kick, Mr. Miyagi’s dojo saw a surge in popularity, allowing him to expand his teachings beyond the ancient martial art to include... improv.
This group is the finest to ever come from the school.
Today though, his students have drifted far from the Master’s peaceful teachings.
In both karate... and comedy: they show no mercy.
This show is unlikely anything seen before. A hybrid of intense high kicks, and laughs.

Husband Material

Russia

Russia is the Push Comedy Theater's reigning 3 on 3 Improv Tournament champions!
They've been studying improv together for 6 years.
Their favorite shows are the ones where they win.

When they are not performing Russia can be found conquering others or in their lair reading Beowulf.

The Magic Negro and Other Blackness + The Reformed Whores (Friday)

The Magic Negro and Other Blackness

Have you ever pondered the idea that Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham might be racially charged? Is it possible to skip and listen to hip hop at the same time? Do black people actually carry around race cards? Well, maybe it’s time to take a closer look.

Mark Kendall uses a series of comedic sketches to examine the representation of black males in the media in his critically acclaimed one-man show. From prison to white flight, and even Reading Rainbow – we’ll explore some of the ways these images influence our views on race in everyday life. There will also be cookies.

Mark first got into comedy while studying film at Northwestern University. He had a chance to work at Comedy Central through the Chris Rock Summer School Program for up and coming comedy writers of color. During his time at Comedy Central, he got to pitch jokes to the writing staffs of "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report." Mark performs comedy in Atlanta at Dad's Garage Theatre Company and Highwire Comedy. He also teaches improv and sketch writing. He is currently touring with his one man show "The Magic Negro and Other Blackness" a sketch show that examines the depiction of black men in the media. The Reformed Whores

If Dolly Parton & Flight of the Conchords got drunk and had a baby, you'd get the hilariously irreverent musical comedy duo Reformed Whores! These All-American gals don’t beat around the bush as they skewer and celebrate country music at their rib-tickling hoedown. Southern bred, but NYC based, Katy Frame & Marie Cecile Anderson have been featured on IFC, PBS, CBS, and many other three-letter networks.

They've toured the country opening for the likes of musical parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic, bassist extraordinaire Les Claypool, guitar hero Dweezil Zappa and rockabilly vets Reverend Horton Heat. Their sophomore album "Don't Beat Around the Bush" debuted in March 2016 on the top 20 iTunes comedy chart and their YouTube Channel just hit over a million views!
